Make and give amazing gourmet food gifts at Christmas this year. These DIYs are simple to make and will leave everyone impressed!

I love to give gifts at Christmas. Family, friends, neighbors, anyone – I just love the act of thoughtful gift giving!
By far one of the best items to give at Christmas are gifts of food. I’m not talking about your typical cookies or candy either. I’m talking about gourmet gifts. The type of gifts that leave people wondering what amazing boutique/farmer’s market/specialty shop you have discovered.
I’m also all about DIY homemade gifts. The kind you can mass produce, but still make look and feel like a million bucks.
It’s totally possible and easier than you might think to do! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite food gifts that would make wonderful Christmas gifts. Be sure to have your Pinterest board ready, because you are going to want to save these ideas!
Oh, and did I mention that these aren’t just ideas for Christmas gifts? Hostess gifts, birthdays, Mother’s Day, new neighbor, thinking of you – these gifts are perfect for many occasions.
Ready? Let’s go!
Table of contents
Specialty Flavor Infused Honey
This first one is a favorite of mine. Flavor infused honey that you can make at home in the pressure cooker. Your foodie friends are going to love this idea!
I’ve got instructions for making 7 different varieties: Lemon Ginger Honey, Blueberry Honey, Spice Honey, Chili Pepper Honey, Vanilla Honey, Lavender Honey and Cacao Honey. These are so good with crackers, cheeses and other savory snacks. The taste is incredible, and a bottle of this honey is perfect on its own or as part of a holiday gift basket. This one is a showstopper!

Gourmet Homemade Extracts
Homemade extracts are super easy to make, and they are fantastic for gift giving. Friends and neighbors are always amazed that these beautiful, high-end extracts can be made at home, but you don’t have to tell them that. 😉
Some of my extract recipes are for the must-have’s and some are less-common variety extracts for the chef in your life. All are fantastic and make gorgeous and thoughtful gifts. I’ve even included free printable labels for each extract, so check them out!
Homemade Vanilla Extract
Everyone loves and needs a good vanilla extract. This is the gold standard version for a kitchen necessity. My recipe for the best homemade vanilla extract is sooo much better than store-bought versions! Your recipients are sure to get good use out of this gift.

Pressure Cooker Vanilla Extract
Here is another vanilla extract recipe. This one if for a pressure cooker vanilla extract. Using the pressure cooker allows you to whip up a big batch of gourmet vanilla extract in almost no time. It’s the perfect gift for the busy holiday season!

Gourmet Vanilla Extract in 3 Varieties
How about 3 more vanilla extract varieties, just to make your gift-giving options even more amazing? These decadent vanilla extracts, each with a special flavor infusion, will make you the master of Christmas food gifts.
My sister, Marci, and I collaborated to come up with beautiful labels and flavors for a chocolate vanilla, cinnamon vanilla and coconut vanilla. The perfect assortment of specialty flavors!

Mint Extract
Mint and sweet treats go together like eggs and bacon. It’s the perfect flavor combination!
Homemade mint extract adds a magical touch to brownies, fudge and hot cocoa. Give a bottle of this mint extract on its own or in a gift box. Either way, your friends and family will be impressed with this Christmas food gift!

Lavender Extract
Lavender extract is a less common variety that will be sure to impress the food-lovers in your life. Homemade lavender extract makes delicious and unique sweets and pairs fabulously with other flavors. Put some of this extract in a cute, labeled jar and you’ve got yourself a one-of-a-kind gift!

Orange Extract
Homemade orange extract is another favorite of mine. Made from the peels of fresh fruit, this extract has a bright and sunny flavor that is perfect for both sweet and savory dishes. Imagine adding a splash to your cupcake batter, frosting or orange almond cookies. Yum!

Lemon Extract
Like the orange extract, homemade lemon extract is made from fresh fruit peels. That means that this impressive gift can basically be made from kitchen scraps! (Don’t worry, they’ll never know.) Now, that is how you make the most of what you’ve got!
This lemon extract is high quality, delicious, easy to make and totally impressive. Another great Christmas food gift option for your foodie friends and family!

Almond Extract
Almond extract is another pantry staple. This homemade almond extract is the real deal. Made using real, slivered almonds, the flavor here is second to none.
Use this extract yourself to make the most delicious Christmas cookies or give a bottle of almond extract away as a gift. Either way, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to make this impressive gift!

Cinnamon Extract
Homemade cinnamon extract deserves a spot in your kitchen and on your gift list. It’s perfect for flavoring baked goods and beverages. No more cinnamon sprinkles that won’t incorporate into your hot drinks and other liquids. This baby blends right in for a true cinnamon flavor.
Wrap up a bottle of this cinnamon extract with a ribbon and you’re ready to go!

This next idea is perfect for the holidays! Healthy, hot drink mixes made without sugar or caffeine.

Homemade jam is nothing new, but a lavender berry jam? Now, that’s something different! Give the gift of a new flavor experience with this healthy jam that you can make at home. It’s so good!

Chive Blossom Vinegar
Another unique and delicious Christmas food gift is chive blossom vinegar. This stuff is very fancy, very tasty and very easy to make at home. This is a wonderful gift for anyone who likes to grill or marinate meat, because it adds such incredible flavor. It’s great used in salad dressings or splashed in a potato salad. The perfect savory food gift!
