Two glass jars of lemon balm tea

Lemon Balm Tea Recipe

Created by TIDBITS & Company
Enjoy it hot or cold, this lemon balm tea is the perfect drink! Delicious tasting, mood boosting and easy to make. My family's favorite herbal tea!

Ingredients

  • Hot water
  • Fresh lemon balm leaves
  • Honey to taste

Instructions

  • Heat water to a boil in a tea kettle or large pot.
  • Pack a jar or other container 1/3 full of washed, fresh lemon balm leaves. Be sure to remove them from the stems.
  • Pour the jar full of hot boiling water.
  • Give the contents of the jar a good stir, and cover with a linen tea towel while the infusion takes place. Let the lemon balm infuse into the water for at least 20 minutes (the longer the better!).
  • Strain the lemon balm from the warm water.
  • While the water is still warm, add the honey to taste and stir to combine.
  • Serve warm or chill in the fridge for an iced tea.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

For a more potent tea, allow the lemon balm leaves to infuse in the sun all day.  You can even leave it all night for maximum flavor.
You can also use dried lemon balm leaves to make this herbal tea.  Just use 1-2 teaspoons of dried leaves for each cup of water.  Prepare as you would with fresh leaves.
